As the battle for the soul of Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Sunday Mba continues, Ventures Africa can confirm that no transfer figure has been agreed for the player contrary to reports.

Mba has been the subject of transfer saga involving two Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) teams Rangers International and Warri Wolves as both teams have laid claims to the Nigerian midfielder. However, the Nigeria Football Federation while recently ruling that the player indeed belonged to Warri Wolves, urged both parties to try and agree on a settlement package. This ruling has led to so many transfer fees peddled around including a reported 12 million naira ($80,000 dollars) to be paid to Rangers International.

But media officer of Warri Wolves, Etu Moses says there are no such deals. According to him, “We are still waiting for an official letter from the NFF on the judgement before taking a position. We have learnt a lot from the Mba saga and do not want make any mistake again. We have to make sure every transaction is official.”

In a related development, the man in the eye of the storm, Mba, says he has received so many offers from Europe but maintains he wants to take his time and not rush into any decision.

Speaking to Ventures Africa Mba said: “There are offers but for now I just want to be on a low key. (For now) let me prove a point. It is not like I’m not going to (travel to play in Europe) but I’m not in a hurry to travel. I just want to concentrate and be focused for now.”

Sunday Mba scored two vital goals for Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations: the winner in the quarter final clash against The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire as well as the winner in the final against The Stallions of Burkina Faso. Mba has not played a game since the start of the new NPFL season but was in action for Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier against The Harambee Stars of Kenya last weekend.
