Prof Wole Soyinka has opened up on his private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari which held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on August 11, 2016. During that meeting, Prof. Soyinka revealed to newsmen, both of them discussed “national and international matters”.

Recently, Soyinka granted Sahara Reporters an interview where he discussed the Niger Delta crisis, the kidnapping of the 219 Chibok girls, and the issue of corruption, among other things. He stated his position on these issues and asked that they be treated holistically without waiting for people to take arms in one form or the other.

Former President-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dozie Ikedife agreed with Soyinka adding that every issue should be discussed with honesty and maturity and that if the present arrangement is no more favorable to a majority of people, then there should be a change.

The Second Republic governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, also reacted to the matter. He said, “Soyinka has always pushed the view that Nigeria should be restructured in such a way that there is ethnic sovereignty.”
