Helios Investment Partners, a Pan-African Private Equity firm, has appointed Dabney Tonelli as Investor Relations Partner.

According to reports, Tonelli, who will be based in London, will lead Helios’ efforts to develop further its relationships with existing and prospective investors.

Co-founder of Helios Investment Partners,  Tope Lawani said the private equity company is delighted to have Dabney. Accroding to him: “Her experience, knowledge and ability to work closely and communicate effectively with investors will make Dabney an invaluable addition to Helios, as we seek to enhance our investor relations strategy.”

Dabney was previously a Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Chayton Capital LLP, an emerging markets private equity investment advisor. She was jointly responsible for Chayton’s Africa business and executing the firm’s strategy on the continent, with a focus on operations, transactions and key investor relationships.

Dabney was  also at Goldman Sachs prior to joining Chayton. She held a variety of management roles in Global Investment Research in London and was previously in the Investment Management Division in New York, where she worked in product development and management, as well as marketing and client coverage. She began her financial services career at American Express.

Dabney has also written several published articles on issues relating to food security and agriculture investment in Africa.

Helios is an Africa-focused investment firm co-founded by Babatunde Soyoye and Temitope Lawani. It is one of the largest investment firms focusing on Africa, and among the few independent Pan-African Private Equity firms founded and managed by Africans.
