The 47th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is taking place in Davos, Switzerland from the 17th to 20th January 2016. The event themed “Responsive and responsible leadership” will be attended by nearly 3,000 leaders in government, business, academia and civil society around the world.

The meeting will focus on four key leadership challenges: strengthening global collaboration, revitalising economic growth, reforming capitalism and preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The participants for today’s plenary sessions include:

  • Tidjane Thiam, – Chief Executive Officer, Credit Suisse AG
  • Sunil Bharti Mittal – Chairman, Bharti Enterprises
  • Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina – President, African Development Bank (AfDB)
  • Aliko Dangote – President and Chief Executive, Dangote Industries Limited
  • Cyril M. Ramaphosa – Deputy President of South Africa, The Presidency of South Africa
  • R.H. Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud – Chairman, King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies
  • Tim Ryan – Chairman and Senior Partner, PwC
  • Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch – State Secretary, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)
  • Cynthia Castro – Vice-President, RBA – Reinventing Business for All

They will be leading discussions on several issues which include, “Strategic Update: The Future of the Digital Economy”,’ “Promise or Peril: Decoding the Future of Work,” “Powering Africa,” “Monetary Policy: Where Will Things Land?” “Terrorism in the Digital Age,” and “Can Women Have It All?”
