Chinua Achebe, 16 November, 1930 – 22 March, 2013

The world has witnessed the passing of a literary titan and one of Africa’s greatest personalities. Professor Chinua Achebe might not have written about business, but his literary life and legacy are an inspiration for anyone who chooses to write about Africa. His pride in Igbo tradition taught us to believe that our African cultures have something to teach the world. His sharp and critical writing about the shortcomings of our leaders and societies showed us the path towards a better and brighter future for our continent. Without thought leaders like Professor Achebe none of the fragile renaissance we are witnessing across the continent of Africa would be possible.

Ventures Africa salutes Professor Chinua Achebe. We thank you for showing us the way forward.
