On Wednesday, the Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, announced February 17, 2017, as the deadline for the delivery of the 21 megawatts power plant being built in the state.

The state government said in a statement that the power project was one of the products of the several memoranda of understanding signed with foreign investors during Governor Ayade’s several investment trips around the world.

The governor, who spoke during a routine inspection of ongoing construction work at the site along the Parliamentary Extension, Calabar, described the power plant as a new, cost-effective technology.
