Former president Olusegun Obasanjo, has critisized Goodluck Jonathan and his administration for not acting accordingly to key issues faced by the country during his time in power. He said that key issues of politics, especially the issues concerning Boko Haram and insurgency attacks were not dealt with accordingly. Obasanjo said he did not believe that the Chibok girls that were abducted will return because former president Goodluck Jonathan, did not act fast on the issue when he was first informed but only started acting 72 hours later, which Obasanjo says was too late.
He also criticized the past administration for inability to improve sectors such as power, railway and other key sectors of the economy. He said these sectors have not changed since he left power in 2007.  Obasanjo said it was best that PDP stopped ruling and that it was a thing of joy to him, that the earlier declaration of 50 years of governance for PDP did not come to pass. He further added that he had no regrets on the reforms he made in the education sector because it was better to have all the people in school than to have a few people enjoying free food.
