Curve International, a U.S. firm, is targeting 2, 000 jobs for Nigerian women in the next five years. Brewer said that the centre which started in Lagos in 2014 would be targeting to open about 200 additional fitness centres across the country.Curve International has 7,000 fitness centre outlets in 94 countries of the world.
Brewer identified balanced diet, personal hygiene and good healthy lifestyle as panacea for longevity of life. Pastor Tunde Bakare, who was a guest speaker lauded the initiative of the company for setting such centre in Abuja. He urged Nigerians to be more creative and think about what they could add to the world’s economy apart from population. According to Pastor Tunde, it’s time for Nigerians to think of what they can package for the world’s economy rather what they can get from it. Earlier, Operations Manager of the centre, Mrs Peace Elimimian, had expressed optimism that the centre would impact meaningfully on the lives of women. She urged women, irrespective of age, to tap into the immense health benefits of the centre.
