A petroleum pipeline went up in flames in Effunrun Warri, Delta State, close to the Mammy Barracks between Tuesday evening and the early hours of this morning. Concerned individuals who happened to be first on the scene, as well as firefighters in the area, tried to contain the spread of the fire, as seen in a video posted online.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, but speculation on the Internet has hinted at a link between the location of the pipeline and the army barracks.
