Following a negotiated reduction of the N1.04 trillion fine to N330 billion, MTN Nigeria plc has finally settled the last installment of N55 billion imposed by the Nigerian Communication Commission. This completes the fine that was agreed between the company and NCC.

The fine was imposed on the company in October 2015, as a result of non-compliance with a set deadline to disconnect all non-registered sim cards and since 2017. The company has been paying its fine installmentally.
