Nigeria is gradually becoming a center stage for fashion lovers and experts both in the African continent and internationally. Different fashion brands have created innovative platforms for designers to showcase their designs and in the process, serve as an avenue for them to make profit, get more clients and grow. One of such brands setting a standard in the Nigerian and African Fashion Industry is- L’Espace, the expansion of the premier and successful Le Petite Marche (LPM) , a fashion and lifestyle market established three years ago. Created in 2009, LPM is a platform that gives vendors  and affordable means to promote their brands, generate revenue, interact and increase their clientele and in general serve as a means to improve the African Fashion Industry.

Brand Entrepreneurs

Three years later and after 37 successful editions of LPM, the CEO duo Isoken Ogiemwonyi and Wonuola Odunsi have expanded their project into a major business venture by creating L’Espace in December 2011.

Isoken and Wonuola have been an inspiration to many in the Nigerian fashion industry. In an interview with BellaNaija, the duo said the key to their success is:

“Drive and a ‘make it happen’ mindset go a long way, identify what you see as a lack in yourself or your plan . Don’t see obstacles, aim for solutions instead. An idea is just an idea until it is executed. And of course, never stop praying”

They go on to tell upcoming entrepreneurs to have a clear vision, get inspiration from other success stories, improve your skill sets, listen and learn from other people that know better and always be positive. In addition, they give back to their community through Fate Foundation and a new project- Fashion Incorporated, by providing mentorship and empowerment sessions to Nigerian entrepreneurs on how to run a successful business.
