Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari said that agriculture is Nigeria’sonly hope of economic resurgence. He said that there is need for rapid development in the agricultural and solid mineral resources field as the revenues from crude oil exports keep declining. Buhari said that his administration is fully committed to to the cause so as to save the nation from the harsh effects of dwindling crude oil prices.
The president called on Saudi Arabian businessmen to invest in both agriculture and solid minerals in Nigeria. He added that his administration is opening the doors for greater foreign investment so as to support its efforts to rapidly diversify the Nigerian economy. He said that it was regrettable that Nigeria had for so long, solely and heavily depended on crude oil exports at the expense of other resources.
