On Friday, August 18, 2017, Africa’s leading mobile phone maker, TECNO Mobile unveiled a new range of devices, TECNO Spark and Spark Plus, at a glamorous party hosted to celebrate university students in Lagos. The TECNO Spark Party, as it is called, was created to be a bubbly fun filled event for students in tertiary institutions and the maiden event kicked off at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos.

TECNO’s latest flagship; the Spark and Spark Plus, is a new budget-friendly line of photo-focused smartphones targeted at millennials and social media enthusiasts. As is typical of new generation TECNO smartphones, the Spark series comes with a revolutionary pixel sensor and denoising camera technologies. Both devices are in a sleek bright colored metal unibody and comes with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

They feature a 1.3GHz Octa-core MediaTek CPU and a 2GB RAM for a lag-free operation. Plus a 16 GB internal memory that can be extended to 32GB via a MicroSD card. The Sparks come with dual cameras; a 13Megapixel rear and 5Megapixel front camera provide high-sensitivity camera capabilities which help users get better imaging results anytime, anywhere and under any kind of lighting condition. The only difference between the Spark and Spark Plus is simply that the latter features a larger screen and battery capacity with a 6-inch display and a 3400 mAh battery.

The Spark party featured several Nigerian music artistes including Mayorkun, Immaculate of Project Fame and DJ Consequence. It was a memorable evening for everyone in attendance, particularly the students. “I have not had this much fun for a very long time. I really appreciate TECNO for this gesture”, a 300-level student of the University of Lagos said.

The 1 million dream promo is one of the ways we hope to continue giving back to people, helping them achieve their dreams” said Jesse Oguntimehin, Deputy Marketing Manager, Digital, TECNO Nigeria.

The Spark and Spark Plus smartphones are currently available for purchase at all 3CHUB outlets and other major mobile retail stores.
