Schalk Nolte is the CEO of Entersekt, the first company in the world to provide transaction authentication on mobile phones using certificate technology, securing millions of transactions each day and enabling financial institutions and other enterprises to communicate interactively with their customers through a mobile device.

Having worked at several large telecom companies, with a focus on technology and network deployment as well as on building the teams to put these into practice, Schalk joined Entersekt as the CEO in 2009, bringing with him extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge of the mobile technology sector.
Schalk’s vision as CEO is for Entersekt to become the de facto solution for banking security, with a focus on rebuilding consumers’ trust in mobile remote banking and changing the way financial institutions interact with their customers.

Having already partnered with many leading banks in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the USA and having received a number of awards, including best consumer app on Android in South Africa, Entersekt is poised to change the face of mobile security.

A passionate entrepreneur, Schalk started a successful consultancy company, prior to joining Entersekt, that reached over US$7m in sales in its first year. He is also a firm believer in the benefits of mentorship and supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in South Africa. This is apparent through his involvement in Launch Lab, a business incubator based in Stellenbosch, and his drive to become a contributing member of the Endeavour network, the leading supporter of high-impact entrepreneurs around the world.

Schalk holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch.
When not in the office or inspiring young entrepreneurs, Schalk can be found spending time with his wife and two daughters or enjoying some relaxing fly fishing.
