On April 2nd 2018, Nomzamo Winifred Madikizela-Mandela‚ a stalwart in the fight against apartheid‚ died at the age of 81.

The death of Winnie Mandela stirred quite a controversy; although the former anti-apartheid leader and activist remains a hero to many, others have a different opinion about her, her fight against racism in South Africa and the process with which she went about it.
