Silicon Industries Corporation (SICO), an Egyptian company that manufactures mobile phones and tablets has declared plans to expand into the African market by 2019, thereby increasing its export. SICO manufactures different varieties of 3G/4G mobile phones and smartphones some of which are Nile X, Diamond 2, and SICO mini.

The Sales Director, SICO, Mahmoud said the company already exports its products to the gulf and aims to start selling its phones in Kenya, Morocco, The Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Nigeria, Mozambique and Ghana.

The company aims to sell smartphones as low as 50 USD to 60 USD to customers in these African countries as against the prices of smartphones and tablets in the market. “It is a promising market, and there is less much competition than in the Gulf,” said Ali.
