Court of Ajaccio, Corsica, to pay nearly €400,000 ($586,000) to a construction company for unpaid work in the construction of his villa in Abidjan.

Jeune Afrique reported the development today citing Le Parisien, a Parisian based newspaper.

The French daily Le Parisien reported that Didier Drogba was sentenced last week by the French court “to pay nearly €400,000 ($520,700) to the company and €50,000 ($65,000) in damages to the contractor, who was brutally denied access to the site by armed men in December 2011”.

The former Chelsea FC striker, who currently plays for Galatasaray, has announced his intention to appeal. However, according to report, he must pay the fines immediately as the court “ordered the provisional enforcement of the decision”.
