BBOXX, a UK power firm that deals with plug and play solar systems has partnered with a French Electric Utility Company, EDF Group to launch an off-grip system to power Sikpe-Afidegnon, a remote village in Togo.

The solar energy is currently used in houses, schools, shops and also powers streetlights and the newly donated well, saving the village money that would have been spent on generators and cost of fuel. Although the power is free for the meantime, residents will have to pay for market rates as time goes by.
