The First Bank of Nigeria has announced plans to introduce a Visa Multi-Currency card, one that will be linked with different currencies; Naira, Dollar, Euro and Pound sterling.

With the Visa Multi-Currency card, First bank users within and outside Nigeria can purchase items and pay for them in any designated currency, linked to a single debit card.

“Amongst the many benefits of the Visa Multi-Currency card are Point of Sale and Online purchases, access to and use of ATMs worldwide. There is no cash collateral requirement prior to its issuance,” the bank said.

On one hand, the card will aid the use of cashless transactions for customers anywhere in the world, on the other, it reduces the bother of changing currencies especially with ridiculous exchange rates.  This feat is the first in Nigeria as the bank remains committed to providing products and services intended to make banking convenient.
