20 Nigerian soldiers have been killed in an attack on Wednesday, January 8th in Monguno, Maiduguri. 

The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), who claimed responsibility for the attack on its Amaq news agency, had come into the town disguised as a military convoy on the day before. 

The group has also claimed to have seized a vehicle, weapons and ammunition before leaving the town.
