Nigerian tech company, Zinox Group has announced plans to launch what it says will be Africa’s largest single ICT product mall in 2016.

Zinox Computers group Chairman, Leo Stan Ekeh, who disclosed the information while speaking as a guest of Honour at the Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P) last week, said the mall will make Nigeria Africa’s technology landmark.

Once completed, the historic mall will be enhanced with executive ambiance, state of the art security, round the clock internet access and other amenities.

The mall, which is currently under construction, will serve as a one-stop shop for all genuine ICT products from software to hardware as well as other ICT related services. It will also feature thousands of booths and shops performing different functions to satisfy all kinds of customers – from commercial wholesalers to small business retailers and end users.

According to Ekeh, Zinox Computers had continued to push with innovative features such as its Naira sign keyboard feature, and a long-lasting power supply feature suited for the poor nature of electricity in Nigeria. These features proved invaluable during Nigeria’s 2011 voter registration exercise where Zinox computer systems were deployed nationwide.

While speaking at the SURE-P programme, Ekeh, who was bestowed as an “Icon of Hope” by Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo for his incisive entrepreneurial vision to computerize Nigeria, advised young Nigerians to pay more attention to the technology sector as that is the ”miracle” of this century.

According to him, “The technology sector is booming and we want to take advantage of this fact. This ICT mall will help create new jobs for many. Other employers should also take advantage of new business opportunities to provide jobs for unemployed graduates. A hungry educated man is a very dangerous person.”

He advised the federal government  to speed up the review of agreements signed with some multinationals operating in the country in order to make them Nigeria friendly,  as it currently affects the employment of qualified Nigerians.”

“It is important to encourage our own. The Federal Government needs to provide more employment opportunities for young, fresh minds. This ICT market will give them a chance to be a part of something special.” Ekeh said.

Zinox Technologies Limited was established in 2001 to manufacture Nigeria’s first Internationally Certified Indigenous brand. Since then, the group has flourished and exceeded expectations becoming the indigenous ICT giant  it is today.
