On Monday, the Special Adviser to Nigeria’s President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina issued a press release informing Nigerians that the president has replaced six of its military chiefs including the country’s National Security Adviser.
Surprisingly, in addition to hailing from Borno state, one of the areas most affected by Boko Haram, the newly appointed National Security Adviser of Nigeria, Army Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd), is also a cartoonist.
When he was a Colonel, earlier in his career he provided cartoons and insider military jokes for a military magazine known as New SOJA. The magazine is a thin pamphlet containing a mix of articles and reports targeted at Army readers, but civilians also read it. The magazine is no longer published.
Some of Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd) hilarious cartoons
This is what people have to say:
@araisokun @beegeaglesblog @NaijaHistory Very hilarious and spot on. I doubt if our pot-belly genarals ever get to read this.
