“President Muhammadu Buhari proceeds to London tonight for a follow-up medical consultation with his doctors.” This was the statement made by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity on the 7th of May 2017. That was 42 days ago. And since then there have been no pictures, no phone calls, no visits or even released statements by public officials.

Is the federal government suddenly out of political theatrics or is something seriously wrong? This is the question on the minds of Nigerians as they take to social media to express their frustration on the president’s whereabouts, his health and the deafening silence of the presidency about it all.

It is certainly not odd for Nigerians to be concerned, to ask questions and demand answers; if anything, the president’s health is costing the country a huge chunk of taxpayers money.
