The 47th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is taking place in Davos, Switzerland from the 17th to 20th January 2016. The event themed “Responsive and responsible leadership” will be attended by nearly 3,000 leaders in government, business, academia and civil society around the world.

The meeting will focus on four key leadership challenges: strengthening global collaboration, revitalizing economic growth, reforming capitalism and preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The participants for today’s plenary sessions include:

  • Klaus Schwab – Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum
  • Christine Lagarde – Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum
  • Robert E. Moritz – Founder and Executive Chairman, World Economic Forum
  • Cynthia Castro – Vice-President, RBA – Reinventing Business for All
  • Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy – Documentary Film-maker, SOC Films
  • Juan Manuel Santos – President of the Republic of Colombia, Office of the President of Colombia
  • Jack Ma – Executive Chairman, Alibaba Group Holding Limited
  • Ngaire Woods – Dean, Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford
  • Jacques de Watteville – State Secretary and Chief Negotiator in Negotiations with the European Union, State Secretariat for International Financial Matters

They will be leading discussions on several issues which include, “Global Statesman Award: Lessons from Peace in Colombia,” “Disrupting the Status Quo of Gender Roles,” “Energy’s Clean Transition,” “Investing in Peace,” “An Insight, An Idea with Jack Ma,” and “New Models for Europe.”
