of January.

JM grain, a family-owned business which purchases and sells chickpeas, lentils, feed peas, green peas, yellow peas and seed will join other North Dakota companies in a multi-sector trade mission led by the North Dakota Trade Office (NDTO) to introduce its products to potential Ghanaian food producers.

During the trade mission, North Dakota educators and food specialists will talk about the nutritional benefits of products from the state. They will also demonstrate how those products might be incorporated into the Ghanaian diet, Forum News service reported.

The trade mission, which will take place from January 16-23 this year, will include pulse crops producers, manufacturers of agricultural equipment, grain storage and handing as well as agricultural technology such as GPS systems.

JM Grain plans to introduce pulse crops (grain legumes) which are great source of energy and easy to cook, Beverly Flaten said on behalf of the company.

She however noted that investing in Ghana’s emerging economy will be a new experience for the company as it usually goes into well-established markets, with large demand for pulse crops.

“This trip would not only be to find the market for the pulse crops, it would also be to create the market.

“Africa is the new frontier for investment, and we hope to be a part of the groundbreaking force that’s able to open up some of these places in Africa to United States businesses,” she said.

JM Grain already exports its product to about 15 countries.
