As the football season draws to a close across Europe, Europe multi-million pound transfer market opens with African stars are set to make moves and grab headlines. Ventures Africa brings you a sequel to our list of African Stars set for summer transfers as we watch as these football icons partake in the business side of football.

Christian Atsu/ Ghana

Current club: Porto

Possible destination: Liverpool

Proposed Fee: £15 million ($22.6 million)

Ghana’s latest star, Christian Atsu is a hot commodity in the transfer market and a possible transfer from Portuguese giants, Porto is on the cards as talks of Premiers league interest lingers. Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is rumoured to be interested but he will need to bring out the cheque book as Porto have a history for pushing hard bargains. However, whoever wants the skilful Atsu may hit a stumbling block as Porto will value him more having recently sold James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho, two of their best players, to Monaco for £60 million ($90.6 million).

Aurelien Chedjou/ Cameroon

Current Club: Lille

Possible destination: Galatasaray

Proposed fee: £6 million ($9 million)

Cameroon & Lille defender Aurelien Chedjou has  been touted as the latest addition to Galatasaray’s star studded squad and while Chedjou may be lacking in star power, he makes up for it in quality. The defender has been a positive footnote in a disappointing season for former Ligue 1 champions Lille and is destined to join Turkish champions Galatasaray sooner than later.

Godfrey Oboabona/ Nigeria

Current Club: Sunshine Stars

Possible Destinations: Lille

Proposed Fee: £1 million ($1.5 million)

By all accounts, 2013 has been Oboabona’s year. The reliable defender picked up a winner’s medal in his first ever African Nations Cup appearance, playing an integral role on the road to victory for Nigeria. Those displays were certain to raise eyebrows and Lille are reportedly talking up a move for Oboabona. With Aurelien Chedjou set to exit the French club, Oboabona’s fantastic 2013 may be about to get better.

Arouna Kone/ Ivory Coast

Current club: Wigan

Possible destinations: Aston Villa, West Ham, Sunderland

Proposed fee: £2 million ($3 million)

After a sweet-bitter season at Wigan where he won the FA Cup only to be relegated three days later, Kone’s time may be up at the club. Already proven himself as value for money by registering double figure in terms of goals after a £2.8 million ($4.2 million) move from Spanish side Levante, Kone has written himself into folklore at Wigan but still only 29, Kone does seem to have a few more goals in him. A switch to a Premiership club seems on the cards.

Sunday Mba/ Nigeria

Current Club: Warri Wolves/Rangers

Possible Destination: Bayer Leverkusen

Proposed fee: £1.5 million ($2.2 million)

Undisputed star of the African Nations Cup for Nigeria, Sunday Mba has long been marked as one who would make a move to Europe this summer. While Warri Wolves and Rangers are still at loggerheads over the star’s contract, the tension has considerably simmered in recent times. Mba has caught the eye of German scouts at Bayer Leverkusen and with German football on the rise, there cannot be a better place for Mba to be headed.
