Stephen Keshi, the former football coach and manager of the Nigerian National Football Team died in the early hours of this morning. According to news reports, he died from cardiac arrest, after battling hypertension for some years now.

Keshi, was a prominent figure in Nigeria, having won the Africa Cup of Nations both as a player and a coach. He played for Nigeria as a part of the national team between 1981 and 1995 and after coaching the Togo and Mali teams respectively, he was appointed as the coach for Nigerian National Team in 2011. A position he held till 2015.

Stephen Keshi will be remembered for his exploits both as an outstanding player and a coach. Here are some of the late footballer’s celebratory moments.
