On Thursday, 20th October 2016, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari sent the names of 46 nominees to the Senate as non-career ambassadors for confirmation and approval.

This was made known by the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, who read the President’s letter to the chamber during the Thursday plenary.

The nominees include retired Justice of the Supreme Court – Justice George Oguntade (Lagos), former Deputy Governor of Plateau State – Mrs. Paulen Tallen (Plateau), former member of the House of Representatives – Usman Bugaje (Katsina), former Deputy Governor of Niger State – Ahmed Ibeto, former speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly – Olorunibe Mamora

Surprisingly there is no nominee representing Imo state.
