As part of a new experiential initiative called The Blue Squad scheme, TECNO Mobile is sending 13 teenagers from across Africa to the Manchester City Football Club for a week to enjoy the very best in coaching. The teenagers, aged 12-15, are from different African countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana and Egypt.

The youngsters will receive fun and engaging lessons from Coaches of the City Football Schools; lessons that would focus on specific areas of the City Play curriculum, using the examples of current City players, such as Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, to challenge players.

“Sport is a great way to provide new experiences and build communities and we are thrilled to be able to give youngsters from across Africa the chance to enjoy the beautiful game at its very best,”  said Stephen Ha, General Manager of TECNO Mobile.

According to Gavin Rhodes, Head of City Football Schools, City Football Schools are delighted to support initiatives like the Blue Squad and are looking forward to welcoming the youngsters to City Football Academy. “We are committed to providing young people with access to cutting edge training and performance expertise both on and off the pitch,” he said.
