Yesterday, July 13, 2017, TECNO Mobile announced an exclusive sales agreement with SLOT Nigeria. The contractual partnership provides for the exclusive nation-wide distribution of the company’s latest flagship, the Camon CX Manchester City Limited Edition smartphones.

The photo focused Camon CX, aka selfie king, was launched in the first quarter of the year to rave reviews and acclaim. Now the mobile giant is taking things up several notches with the introduction of the Camon CX Manchester City limited edition, a customised Camon CX with more RAM and storage to be distributed across the continent in limited units. And who better to serve as a sole distributor than SLOT Systems.

Over the past decade, SLOT Nigeria has been delivering tailor-made customer service to Nigeria’s mobile phone consumers by leveraging advanced technology and trained personnel. “TECNO aims to leverage SLOT Systems’ nationwide presence to connect with local consumers who wish to experience or buy the flagship,” Attai Oguche, Deputy Marketing Lead of TECNO Nigeria, said. Adding that only 200 units of the Man City limited edition smartphone will be shipped to Nigeria mid-July.

“We are happy to partner with TECNO to provide our consumers with unparalleled mobile experience with the introduction of the new Camon CX Manchester City Limited Edition smartphones,” Nnamdi Ezeigbo, MD, SLOT Systems, said.

The Camon CX Manchester City limited edition stays true to the revolutionary pixel sensor and denoising camera technologies of the Camon CX/ CX Air flagships, but an upgraded storage space of 4GB RAM/ 64GB ROM. It features a customised Man City theme and a laser-etched Man City crest on the rear in the clubs official colour – blue.

The phone also comes with dual cameras hosting 4-in-1 light denoising tech. This means the signal-to-noise (SNR) capability is 1.7 times better than the average smartphone and has an incredible capability to shoot beautiful, stunning photography in low light.

Each pixel sensor on the 16MP front and back cameras detect and transmit light from any image as independent signals that collectively forms the final image of a picture. This state-of-the-art camera technology results in selfies that are thirty percent brighter than selfies from average smartphones.

The phone also comes with a full-metal casing in City blue, and customers who purchase it will also enjoy customised gift packs including a City branded selfie stick, water bottle and Bluetooth speakers. What’s more? TECNO maintains its novel strategy of a pocket-friendly price, the City limited edition Camon CX will sell for N95, 000.

Ten years ago, when TECNO first entered the African market, the brand was barely acknowledged as valuable, and TECNO phones were largely considered unsophisticated. But clearly, that has changed with the brand’s consistent innovation. When TECNO launched the Camon CX /CX Air early this year, the number of phone dealers listing TECNO smartphones went up by 19 percent, according to a report by Data Fintech. The stock value of TECNO phones listed also went up by 38 percent.

TECNO has comfortably positioned itself as a force to be reckoned with, not just in terms of brand penetration and market dominance in Africa, but also in terms of its use of high-end tech, the input of advanced features, and some of the most innovative designs in the mobile phone industry globally. And with the brand’s partnership with the Manchester City Football Club and launch of the limited Camon CX, the brand is strategically expanding beyond Africa into the global mobile market.
