The Zika virus is causing a stir globally as its effects are being noticed more and more.The virus was reported in Brazil in May 2015, and it has since spread rapidly to other countries in the Americas, the latest being Peru. The reason it is getting global recognition is because of the connection between the virus and microcephaly – a neurological disorder that results in babies being born with small heads.
