The Police Pension Office does not have vouchers or proof to back up or justify the payment out of their account, amounting to N9.7billion. This information was revealed in court Gadanya a former staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He said that he had given evidence in court in December 2014, that revealed that the Police Pension Office could not provide vouchers to authenticate payments amounting to N9.7billion made to Veronica Onyegbula. Onyegbula,Esai Dangabar, Atiku Abubakar Kigo, Ahmed Inuwa Wada,  Sani Habila Zira, Uzoma Cyril Attang and Christian Madubuke are the accused.
The witness said that a search had been carried out at one of the accused’s company and incriminating evidence had been discovered. The value of some of the recovered documents and financial instruments ran into billions of naira. The witness further testified that an enquiry was made with the bank in order to get information. More incriminating evidence was discovered including false documentation that was used for account opening. The witness also revealed that analysis of the company account showed that most of the inflow that occurred into the company’s account, which were in the billions, were done when Dangabar was director of the police pension office.
