Jibril Aminu the former minister of Petroleum has called for the checking of ministers, access to public funds. He said that ministers had unlimited access to public funds and can collect and spend these funds at will.
Mr. Aminu made this statement during  his speech at the third edition of Adamawa Community Dialogue, organized by an NGO, Adamawa Community Advancement Initiative (ACAI). He said that governors treated state and local government resources like their personal property and that this needs to be stopped, if the country is to progress.
He added that he was impressed with the efforts  the Adamawa Community Advancement Initiative, are making in promoting unity and good govenance in Adamwa. He encouraged the organisation not to be discouraged in their efforts to ensure that the state and public resources were used for the benefit of the people. He ended by urging Nigerians not to be discouraged by the current challenges being faced by the country, but  to remain resolute and determined to reject negative thinking and work towards nation building.
