The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had said that it has lost about  1, 000 members of the group since their leader, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and detained last year. Mr. Emma Powerful, the IPOB Media and Publicity Officer, that he does not understand why soldiers and policemen are attacking them when they are embarking on peaceful demonstrations. He said that these soldiers and policemen should be using their energy and skills in tackling the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents who are killing people on a daily basis.
He said that the case of their leader has exposed the APC government as they are in full support of the extra judicial killing of harmless IPOB members who do not even carry guns. He said that if the present government was law abiding and respectful of the Nigerian constitution, their leader Mr. Nnamdi Kanu would not still be incarcerated. He further went on to accuse former presidents of working in cahoots with the current government and that he hoped they will one day be tried for genocide.
