In woman section, Pallavi Retiwala and Pooja Chaurushi were declared first and second while Nepal’s K. C. Roja bagged Bronze medal for her country.
India notched the gold medal in all three events of triathlon held at the ongoing 12th South Asian Games. In individual men’s event yesterday, Guru Datt had secured the silver for India, while the bronze was notched by Nuwam Kumara of Sri Lanka. Todays mixed team relay had 300m swimming, 60km cycling and 1.2km running events. In the capital city of Assam, there were just eight medal events and the Indians won all of them – six by shooters and two by triathlon players. Afghanistan overtook Nepal to take the fifth place in the medals tally – with three golds in comparison to Nepal’s solitary gold medal. The Men’s team defeated Pakistan in a cracking encounter 9-8 later in the evening. Sri Lanka won the Silver medal on Sunday, in the Men’s 50-metre rifle shooting event on Day 10 of the South Asian Games. Omkar Singh fired his way to the 10m Air Pistol Gold with a score of 198.8 while Jitendra Vinbhute won the Bronze with a score of 175.1.
