The Nigerian Coaches Association (NCA) has taken a swipe at Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh for his outburst in a recent video that went viral where he (Oliseh) dismissed his critics as being insane.
General Secretary of the NCA, Solomon Ogbeide, in a statement advised Oliseh to control his emotions, stressing that Nigerian coaches are not known to exhibit childish behaviours. Ogbeide said it was unprofessional for Oliseh to insult Nigerians afterfailing to deliver in CHAN. He noted that even Amodu Shaibu who led the nation to qualify for the World Cup twice but was denied participation never castigated Nigerians and the press. “Oliseh should learn how to control his temper. Nigerian coaches fought for the position he’s occupying now but we are surprised that someone, who has no requisite qualification to handle the national team other than being a football analyst on TV, who ought to be grateful for being considered in place of more qualified coaches in the country, should engage in public castigation of Nigerians. It’s a professional suicide on his part,” the coaches’ scribe said. Also, a former chairman of Akwa Starlet of Uyo, John Ekpenyong, has asked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sack Oliseh.
