Pan Africa Solar has a plan to invest $146m in building a new power plant. The firm is said to have signed the nation’s first Solar Power Purchase Agreement with the Federal Government.
Once inaugurated, the 75MW solar project would be the largest of its type in sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) and would provide power for 1.1 million Nigerians, it would also generate employment for over 500 Nigerians during the 12-month construction period, adding that more than 40,000 new jobs would be created from the additional economic activity stimulated by the power plant.
