Enyimba midfielder Razaq Aliyu has stepped up his fitness as he gets closer to returning to first team action for the Nigerian champions.
Aliyu sustained an ankle injury during the just concluded Super Four competition in Kaduna and has been out of action and as a result, did not travel with the rest of the squad to Uganda for their Champions League opener against Vipers. Speaking to Goal, the imposing midfielder was filled with joy and said he will soon resume full training in time for the start of the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League. “Injury is a monster in the lives of footballers, we can’t just do anything about the advent of injury,” Aliyu told Goal. “I feel disappointed having to watch games from the sidelines, it is very frustrating and depressing. My recovery routine has gone well and I should be back doing what I love in a couple of days,” he posited. Aliyu also wished his team mates the best in their Champions League game against the Ugandan champions.
