Technological products and services provider, Dimension Data has consolidated its presence in the West African market by opening an office in Ghana after over 10 years of doing business in Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy and the region’s biggest market.

“The market in West Africa is growing, and Ghana is going to play a key role in our growth journey,” Dimension Data West Africa MD, Glad Dibetso said commenting on the new investment.

With Information Technology (IT) playing an important role in the development of Ghana’s economy, alongside major revenue generators like gold, cocoa and oil, the IT company hopes to increase systems integration skills and expertise over the next year by providing opportunities to young local talents.

According to Mr Dibetso, the company looks forward to “working closely” with clients and partners in Ghana to “develop locally relevant solutions to help clients accelerate their business ambitions.”

Dimension Data also looks to explore the prospect of partnering with tech giants, Microsoft and Cisco, through the expansion of its global alliance.

Founded in 1983, the IT firm has 23,000 employees in 58 countries across five continents.
