Somalian troops have reportedly killed about ten people in Mogadishu, as they opened fire around internally displaced persons (IDPs) queuing to receive food and humanitarian aid at the Gahayrs University Building, in the Daynile district of the city. According to anonymous sources who witnessed the tragic event take place, the event allegedly followed a shootout between soldiers, but civilians bore the brunt of the outcome, for the most part.

Twitter users are currently expressing their condolences for the victims and their families on the network using #Mogadishu, with some adopting the style of France’s supporters on social media of combining the Somalian flag with their profile pictures.

Comprehensive details of the event are still unknown, and more updates on the story are expected. There is also presently no comment from the government and authorities.
