Tunisia’s Industry Minister, Mohamed Lamine Chakari announced over the weekend that the petroleum corporation Shell, has been awarded a $150 million oil exploration licence to attract more investments into the energy sector, according to a report by Reuters.

“Shell will drill oil wells in the centre of the country at a cost of $150 million,” the minister said.

He added that oil blocks in the regions of Jem, Kairouan, Sousse and Sfax, would be explored and drilled for oil.
