For the seventh year in a row, Renaissance Capital (RenCap), a leading merging and frontier markets investment bank, will be having its annual Pan-Africa 1:1 Investor Conference. This gathering aims to facilitate global investment in Africa through meetings and dialogues with top global investors and corporate representatives from across the African continent. The Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, will witness the convergence of more than 100 investors and 35 corporate representatives today, May 11, 2016, to facilitate dialogue and encourage investment in the continent’s fast-growing economies.

The event is preceded by regional investor trips to Abuja (Nigeria), Accra (Ghana) and Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). Over the course of two days, more than 1,000 one-on-one meetings will be conducted to set the wheels in motion for investment opportunities in Africa. Renaissance Capital’s 7th Annual Pan-Africa 1:1 Investor Conference will be powered by high profile government representatives such as Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osibanjo and business leaders who are expected to speak at the event.

According to Igor Vayn, Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Capital, “Africa remains a key geography for Renaissance Capital, and we are confident about the potential of the continent’s fast-developing economies. This conference is the latest in a series to help facilitate further investment by bringing together leading international portfolio managers and companies from across Africa.” This year’s conference serves as further evidence that RenCap is committed to strengthening its presence in Africa.

In April, the firm hosted its inaugural Egypt Corporate Access Day in South Africa after opening an office in Cape Town in late 2015, adding to its sales and trading team in the region during the period. Renaissance Capital Nigeria’s CEO, Temi Popoola, who assumed the company’s top position last year, commented on today’s event stating that, “Lagos sits at the heart of Africa’s largest economy, making it the perfect location to host the investment community. This is a crucial time for many countries in Africa as they look to sustain economic growth and support development.”

Since 1995, when it was founded, Renaissance Capital has hosted a number of high-level investor conferences across all the territories that the firm operates in, including Moscow, London, New York, Africa and Dubai, and the investment bank’s annual conferences are hailed as the premier investor events on the world’s high-opportunity emerging markets. Renaissance Capital has established market-leading positions in each of its core businesses – M&A, equity and debt capital markets, securities sales and trading, research and derivatives, while it continues to build its practices in metals & mining, oil & gas and agriculture across its target markets.
