Manufacturing giant, PZ Cussons has sealed a three year partnership deal with top English football club, Manchester City.

There seems to be a shared drive of winning as PZ explained that the partnership is hinged on both brands’ terms of passion heritage and a desire to win. PZ is one of the most successful manufacturing companies in Africa that promote premium brands that range the categories of personal care, home care, beauty and electrical appliances. Premier Cool, Olympic Milk and Robb are the platforms to drive the partnership deal. Manchester City on the other hand, is one of the leading football clubs in English tournaments and European championship generally. It explains why both parties chose to enter the agreement.

Tim Perman, PZ’s Group Category and Brand Director also reiterated that the company is committed not only to providing quality products in Africa, but also adding values through relevant content and services by igniting exceptional experiences to consumers. By relevant content, he meant MCFC. “We look forward to delighting our consumers with unique experiences from brands that they trust and a sport that they love.”

In order to smoothen the deal, some side attractions were embedded in it. Consumers of the three brands- Olympic, Premier and Robb, stand the chance of winning exclusive VIP match day experiences at the Etihad stadium of MCFC coupled with opportunities to meet the players and watch their private training sessions.

This has been made possible because Nigeria and Africa at large have one of the largest fan bases for the English Premier League and other European football tournaments, chief among which is the Champions League.

Nonetheless, this deal is not without its benefits for both parties. For MCFC, it is a way to identify with more African fans and enlarge its supporters base in one of the most populated regions of the world. It is also an opportunity for PZ to expand its consumer base beyond the shores of Africa creating a greater awareness for its premium products. Besides, the firm being customer-oriented, seeks to create high taste for its products and bespoke experiences that will strengthen PZ’s business relationship with its consumers.

It is a step further for Nigeria and the entire continent because the end product of the transaction will contribute its quota in shaping African business.
