Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta has signed a new finance bill into law, officially introducing a series of new taxes, including one on fuel, which has led to public anger and strikes.

The parliament approved the bill with 8 percent tax on fuel which was cut down from 16 percent having been postponed several times since 2013. The bill also adds other new taxes and authorises revenue collection and spending through June 2019
