The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has sworn-in five new commissioners of the National Population Commission, NPC, in Abuja. The following are names of the new commissioners: Benedict Ukpong, Akwa Ibom; Gloria Izonfuo, Bayelsa; Kupchi Iyanya, Benue; Haliru Bala, Kebbi; and Eyitayo Oyetunji, Oyo.

The swearing in of the commissioners followed a successful screening by the Senate late last year as they were endorsed by the National Council of State.

Osinbanjo administered the oath on the political appointees before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting, as it was witnessed by the cabinet ministers and relations of the appointees while President Muhammadu Buhari is on 10-day vacation in London.
