On Thursday, 19th January 2017, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) charged the federation not to engage in any panic buying petroleum products, as the Corporation has 1.3billion litres stock petrol, which is sufficient to serve the nation for more than 38 days.

“Indeed, with the resumption of production by the Corporation’s three refineries in Kaduna, Port Harcourt, and Warri, complemented by imports, there is enough stock of PMS, Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), diesel and kerosene, ” said NNPC.

This announcement is following the rumour that the government is about to increase the pump price of the white product from 145 naira per litre, which has made some motorists panic about the price of petrol. NNPC is saying that there is no form of truth in that rumour.
