MTN Nigeria has partnered with US-based app store developer, neXva, to launch an app store –  NextApps store –  for its customers.

The newly-developed app store offers a catalogue of free and premium  apps and it  is initially available for Android Smartphones.

It features  global and local apps such as Efiko, eHausa, Nigerian constitution and NewsBasket.

NextApps store supports “one-click” billing, enabling MTN customers to purchase apps through prepaid credit or their phone bill.

Speaking on the innovation, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer, Larry Annetts said, “Our choice of neXva to deploy the MTN Nigeria NextApps store was informed by its robust tech platform and their internal team that is able to customise and localise the offering of the apps to suit our customers in Nigeria. This, for us is a key success factor for the NextApps store.”

Co-founder and CEO of neXva, Brian J Friedman said “Bringing neXva’s app store platform to MTN Nigeria is a great opportunity for neXva. We are particularly pleased that deploying our app store technology was done with a highly curated selection of content that will for the first time bring apps to many MTN’s customers in Nigeria.”

“We know that app store customers are looking for a localised experience in the depth and breadth of the apps offered. This informs why our content is always based on the lookout for the newer, best and most relevant apps that can bring MTN’s customers in Nigeria a very personalised catalogue of apps that is very relevant to their day-to-day lives,” neXva COO and co-founder, Shuan Zelber explained.

neXva is a mobile app technology company based in San Diego, California with offices in France and Sri Lanka.
