VENTURE AFRICA – Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the national airline of Morocco has risen from a 2-star ranking to 3-star operator on the skytrax index after it won the award of  the 2014 Best Regional Airline in Africa at the just concluded World Airline Awards in Farnborough, South East London.

“The award is a deep tribute to RAM’s staffs in order to improve the quality of services to reach the level of top airline companies in the world,” said the president of RAM, Driss Benhima.

However, the carrier came 7th  in the category of Best Airlines in Africa behind  TAAG Angola Airlines, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines,Air Seychelles, Air Mauritius and South Africa Airways which came out top . RAM also came 6th for quality of services provided by its staff.

RAM operates in Africa, North America, Europe. it is the only African airline that has Boeing 787 dreamliner in its fleet. The 787 aircraft is a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner with seating capacity of 210 to 335 passengers.

Skytrax is a UK-based consultancy, which runs an airline and airport review and ranking site. It conducts research for commercial airlines.

The Morocco national airline, gained the award by the votes of thousands of passengers interviewed by Skytrax in more than 160 countries over a period of 10months.
