On Friday, 18th November 2016, the Police Command in Borno, Victor Isuku, confirmed the killing of two suspected suicide bombers after an explosion opposite the Federal High Court, Jiddari polo area, Maiduguri.

“By 3.50 a.m. today, the mobile police personnel on guard duty, opposite the Federal High Court in Jiddari sighted three suspected suicide bombers; comprising two females and a male running toward their sandbag,”Mr. Isuku said.

According to the Police Command, they ordered the suicide bombers to halt for questioning but they refused. In that process, one of the females detonated the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strapped to her body, killing her and a male accomplice.

On the other hand, the other female was arrested alive and handed over to the military for further questioning while the police mobilized its bomb disposal personnel to investigate the area for any Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
