Eight years after launching Nigeria’s first 24-hours music channel, Nigezie; prominent media Entrepreneur and content provider in Nigeria, Femi Aderibigbe, popularly known as Kwame, has launched a 24 hours Yoruba Movie channel – ‘Orisun’.

Orisun, a Yoruba word, which means ‘sourer’ is expected to feature the indigenous lifestyle and culture of Yoruba race through its documentaries, movies, soaps and other native programmes aired by the channel.

Kwame plans to make Orisun as big as Nigezie.

The Yoruba channel will be aired on Startimes channel130 while its sister station, Nigezie, which was re-launched recently after the collapse of HiTV where it was previously transmitted; will broadcast on channel 128.

Nigezie was first launched in 2004 with Global Sounds under its parent company Virtual Media network. It has now been rebranded with a new logo and theme song. According to Kwame, the new logo has worn a stronger, bolder, greener and grounded look that will reflect the strong and vibrant spirit of Nigerians.

He affirms that the new package of Nigezie will provide the best of quality programming that is 100% proudly Nigerian.
